What do Aretha Franklin, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Tupac Shakur all have in common? Yes, they’re all musical and cultural icons, but beyond the obvious, the one common thread shared by these artists is that they all passed away without having Estate Plans!
They’re not alone either—in fact, an estimated 70-80% of American adults DON’T have an estate plan in order. The reasons for this are endless, but ultimately the “right” time should be sooner rather than later. Father Time is undefeated, so it’s better to be proactively prepared than to burden your grieving family and friends with going through probate.
In the coming weeks, I’ll outline the many aspects of a proper Estate Plan, your options, and how Kelly & Kelly, P.C. can help you along the way.
