Oh how the time flies! Now well into my third and final year of law school, I have also been with the Kelly & Kelly team for over five months. Between my accumulated legal education and hands-on experience at Kelly & Kelly, the anticipation of beginning practicing family law as a licensed attorney has reached immense heights. These past five months have been truly one of the best experiences of my life, getting to observe and work alongside masters of their craft.

One of my favorite perks of working alongside the team at Kelly and Kelly is all of the incredible people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working alongside. Whether it be running into counsel at the courthouse, speaking with clients about everything from their case to their son’s soccer game the previous night, or even seeing new faces around our very own office, the variety of people and the backgrounds that these people bring to the table never get old.

While my legal drafting skills have skyrocketed since being taken under the wings of the skilled attorneys at Kelly & Kelly, for everything I submit and have returned to me with revisions, I am constantly reminded how much more I have to learn. I continue to draft the occasional internal memo, but much of my recent work has been drafting case-specific pleadings and filings to assist the attorneys at Kelly and Kelly advance our clients’ cases to the next stage. It feels great to have a hand in helping members of our community who come to us for help work out their troubles and reach their goals. The feeling of helping people along some of the most tumultuous times in their lives is one of the many driving forces that makes me so passionate about the work I do at Kelly & Kelly.

My work at Kelly and Kelly is something I am quite proud of, as much of it is exactly the kind of work I will be doing after passing the bar. The kind of work I have spent the last two decades dreaming about and preparing to do full-time. It cannot be understated the level of appreciation I have for the wonderful team at Kelly and Kelly who have and continue to guide and mentor me as I acquire more knowledge and skill in all corners of practicing law. With every passing day, I look forward to what experience the next will bring.
